CONFERENCE
This event will focus on the value of demand side flexibility to stakeholders, investors and the society. It will be showcased through international and national key note speakers, live demonstration, presentation of results and panel debates. They will all hover around some of the most awaited answers of the intelligent power system: where do the value and costs of flexibility add up to form an attractive business case and what will be the role of the DSO?
The first part of the iPower event will present the benefits for TSO’s and DSO’s in utilizing enhanced measurement and control of demand side units and compare it to other available options. Further, the event will host a live demonstration of the FLECH trading platform demonstrating how wind turbines can be aggregated and provide system flexibility on an overall system level, and how Balance Responsible Parties can benefit from flexible demand.
The second part is concerned with Flexibility Economics - and will ask the fundamental question: Where is the money? As part of the iPower project business cases for several flexible demand side technologies have been studied in depth, both as individual business cases and in interaction with the bulk power system level. Combined with international perspectives these results will enable a deeper understanding of how demand side flexibility can generate value for various stakeholders, the power system and the society as a whole.
