About PowerLab

PowerLabDK is a collation of internationally world-class research facilities for electric power and energy, ranging from flexible laboratories over large-scale experimental facilities to a complete full-scale electric power system on the island of Bornholm.

On Friday, 11 September DTU President Anders Bjarklev and Dean Martin P. Bendsøe had the opportunity to show off PowerLab’s impressive facilities when they welcomed Alex White, Irish Minister for Communications, Energy and Natural Resources and Cliona Manahan, Ambassador of Ireland to Denmark.

Vice Dean Hans Hvidtfeldt Larsen from DTU National Laboratory for Sustainable Energy presented the guests with an overview of DTU's activities within sustainable energy. Professor Henrik Madsen from DTU Compute talked about DTU’s cooperation with e.g. University College Dublin on intelligent, integrated energy systems, while Professor Jacob Østergaard from DTU Electrical Engineering revealed how DTU brings concepts such as smart grids and smart cities to life.
