This July the DTU Elektro owned Ebox EV powered the backstage area at the ODEON stage, and plans are being made for using the car for the main stage in 2014. The vision is to be able to power the ODEON stage with electricity from just one Electric Vehicle (EV).

Senior Site Manager for Roskilde Sustainable Zone, Martin Virenfeldt, is very interested in any power reduction that can be applied. Martin explains “Our goal is to make the Ebox plug-and-play ready, so that it can supply Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) simply by plugging it into the distribution outlet behind the stage".

The Ebox can supply 20kW and the current battery can sustain this consumption for more than an hour, it can thus replace 50% of the average power consumption of the ODEON stage.

This project is one of 35 future Sustainable Lab projects at the 2014 Roskilde festival.
