A succesful Young Researchers' Day

Tuesday 04 Jun 19

On Friday 24 May, more than 90 people participated in Young Researchers’ Day 2019. An event DHRTC hosted for the third time, where participants had the opportunity to network and share their knowledge with fellow researchers. The day was a great success, and therefore we are happy to welcome everyone back for Young Researchers’ Day 2020.

Young Researchers’ Day 2019 began with a welcome speech by Centre Director, Morten Jeppesen, who encouraged the young researchers’ to collaborate with each other and the industry.

Collaboration is a key word for Young Researchers’ Day. One of the participants, Michael Vigsø from Aarhus University, states that the event gave him a pronounced opportunity to meet fellow colleagues across Denmark. “It is interesting just how many different disciplines we see within the DHRTC”, Michael adds.

As part of the day, the young researchers’ each had three minutes to give an elevator pitch on their project and two rounds of poster sessions to convince the judges that they should be announced one of the four winners in the Best Poster competition. In the end, the winners were Stefanie Lode, GEUS, Tian Wang, DTU, Teresa Regueria, DTU, and Louise Vinther Grøn, AU.

After the scientific session had finished, the day continued with laughter and games as the participants joined team-building activities at DHRTC, before dinner and drinks were served. Senior Researcher, Hamid Nick thanks his team of young researchers, Mohsen Farhadzadeh, Teeratorn Kadeethum, Aslaug Clemmensen Glad and Stefano Tagliaferri, for the hard work and dedication in organising the event.

In 2020, Young Researchers’ Day will take place on 15 May at DTU Lyngby campus. You may already sign up for the event here.
