Largest battery in Denmark to be installed on Bornholm

A new project led by DTU has been granted 19 million DKK by the Danish Energy Technology Development and Demonstration Program. The project will demonstrate the largest grid-connected battery energy storage in Denmark. Batteries could be a key factor to retiring fossil-fueled power plants.

Giant battery to charge Nordhavn

Yet another step has now been taken in the development of Nordhavn as Copenhagen’s sustainable urban district. A giant battery which is to help balance the power system of the urban district has just been installed in P-hus Lüders—the district’s spectacular multi-storey car park with a playground and fitness facilities on the roof.

US-Denmark Renewable Energy Summer Workshop

18 students from Denmark and the United States met to collaborate on projects in an interdisciplinary format. The topics included smart energy systems, economic aspects and life cycle analysis, regulatory policies and current barriers for renewable energy integration together with technical challenges for the existing power system.
