Tutorial Sessions
In the tutorial sessions, the mathematical principles of several advanced optimization techniques and their applications to power systems and electricity markets will be presented. These techniques are:
- Uncertainty modeling techniques, such as stochastic programming and robust optimization,
- Distributed optimization and decomposition techniques,
- Convex relaxation techniques based on semi-definite programming and conic optimization,
- Game-theoretic methods in renewable-dominant electricity markets.
Lecture Sessions
In the lecture sessions, based on the modern optimization techniques covered during the tutorial sessions, the world-renowned teachers will give lectures on some real-world challenges of power systems, such as:
- Electricity market design under renewable uncertainty: incentives, pros and cons
- Convex relaxation of AC optimal power flow
- Future power systems with 100% renewables
