Denmark is leading Smart Grid (SG) research in Europe

A smart grid mapping performed by the Joint Research Centre (JRC) reveals that Denmark is leading smart grid research in Europe.

The report identifies a total of 281 smart grid projects across 30 countries, accounting for a total investment of € 1.8 billion; 70 % of all projects are in seven countries: Denmark, Germany, Italy, Austria, the UK, France and Spain.

Of all 30 countries Denmark has most projects, the highest investment in R&D projects and is best in terms of a balance between R&D and Demonstration projects.
